Sprint, an American telecommunication company known to provide wireless services is collaborating with HTC to provide a 5G mobile hub. The company announced that the product will be launched in the first half of the 2019. Sprint has not provided more information relevant to the matter. This device is expected to be launched in nine cities in upcoming year. The name of the device and feature specification are expected to be shared later. HTC will be manufacturing the 5G mobile hub with Qualcomm’s components.
5G Mobile Hub to Allow Customers Enjoy 5G on Smartphones
Previously, the network carrier announced that it will have the first 5G smartphone in the U.S. Experts opine that this product will also come in market in the first half of 2019. The main advantage of this 5G mobile smart hub will be to allow customers to use 5G network, given the fact that the phones are able to connect the hub with WiFi. This will help customers to enjoy 5G internet without upgrading their smartphones.
John Saw, CTO of Sprint, while asked about the recent developments, said that the company is excited to work on 5G and expand its 5G device portfolio. He also said that the Sprint customers will be the first one to enjoy 5G speed next year.
However, several other network carries are extensively working on to launch their own 5G devices. For instance,AT&T in October 2018 unveiled its standards-based 5G mobile device and named it Netgear Nighthawk 5G mobile Hotspot.
