McDermott International, a world leader that provides all-in-one engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) services has expanded operations in India. The global leader launched its maiden digital innovation center in Pune to provide EPCI services for offshore oil and gas operations.
McDermott’s key objective is to develop and deploy innovative digital solutions to manifest transformations in offshore oil and gas operations. In addition, the center will boost employment for high technology in the local area.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of some eminent persons from McDermott and central and state government. Shri Girish Bapat – Food and Civil Supplies Cabinet Minister and Pune’s Guardian minister, Ms. Snehalata B. Kolhe – member of Maharashtra’s Legislative Assembly, and Shri. Vijay Shivtare, Maharashtra state minister for water resources and water conservation jointly inaugurated the center. The inaugural ceremony also saw the presence of Ms. Muktatai Tilak, Pune Municipal Corporations’ mayor and Mr. Nitin Karmalkar – Pune University’s Vice chancellor.
McDermott’s Pune Facility to primarily serve Oil and Gas Industry
McDermott’s Pune facility will serve as a key center to support its growth plans in India, and also to support its digital initiatives globally. Technological innovations at the center will primarily be employed to develop external solutions for the oil and gas industry. The objective of the center is to serve current and prospective clients with best digital technology for EPCI services in subsea fields and offshore facilities.
McDermott’s Pune facility will primarily focus on three areas – Digital Product Management, Digital Innovation Delivery, and Digital Experience. The Pune facility is likely to complement the organization’s capability to provide a 3D and more real-life projects that will be undertaken in the labs.
